About this artwork
I got the physalis as a gift from my friend. In her beautiful garden, this plant grows under bushes. Sometimes there are even too many of it. Apparently it is invasive, but in autumn and winter it is simply beautiful. Its vermilion lanterns are bright, radiant and cheerful. On a dark and grey day, they remind me of the sun. That is why I painted them. They make me feel better.
