About this artwork
This work is dominated by a soft lilac hue, framed with fine brown graphic lines forming a wire mesh. The composition is built on a powerful vertical axis supported by layered horizontals, creating a tense but delicate equilibrium.
Thin, brittle branches stretch across the mesh. Though dry, they pulse with fragile energy, offering a living contrast to the rigid structure.
At the center lies a cruciform symbol, striking and emotive. Its form incorporates… plush toy-like fur paws — introducing a duality between childhood and sacrifice, softness and severity.
A hand pulls the string of a bow, held in taut suspense — an image of control and tension.
Near the bottom, a fragment from a contemporary ballet evokes a quiet sense of penitence and surrender.
