About this artwork
A moment frozen between day and night. I remember a late-night stroll across the Pont Alexandre, when the lamplight reflected in the Seine like liquid gold. The sky was still dark blue, the water pitch black, shot through with reflections of neon, engines, voices, and heartbeats. This work is my attempt to capture that moment: the tranquility in the midst of the big city. The beauty in the blur.
“Paris” is what remains when words are no longer enough:… rhythm, color, breath.
Anselm Homey, originally an interior designer, works as a self-taught painter using acrylic and oil paints, as well as one-line drawings on handmade paper. He creates abstract visual worlds in which layering, reflection, and texture merge into multifaceted compositions, complemented by poetic, reduced linework in his drawings. His works invite the viewer to delve deeply into inner landscapes, concealing longing, memory, and transformation, and convey a quiet, contemplative emotional resonance.
