About this artwork
This photograph was made using a slitscan camera of my own invention.
Slitscan photography is a technique that captures images through a narrow slit on the image sensor, allowing only a small portion of the scene to be exposed at a time. As the subject moves, the slit records the image slices sequentially, creating a stretched, distorted, or abstracted version of reality.
Things that move are clear and things that don't move are blurred. The train… was moving fast and therefor was condensed in the direction of travel.
