About this artwork
The painting "Small Islands - Winter" also belongs to the already familiar mini-series "Small Islands - Seasons". Again, the scene depicts two islands framed by a dark, ring-shaped element made of rusted Corten steel.
This time we encounter a much more dramatic color scheme: Dark, grey-blue, almost black water surrounds the islands.
The sunset bathes the sky in a vibrant coral red that spreads intensely, interspersed with neon orange and yellow… flames that make the horizon glow.
The islands themselves are still illuminated by the light of the setting sun. On the first island, a white bench invites you to sit down, enjoy the moment, and admire the spectacular sky and the foliage of the leafless tree on the second island.
