About this artwork
I was thinking of the following scene when I painted this picture: It's summer. Today I have the day off, lying on a lounger in the garden, my eyes closed. The sun shines on my skin, a gentle breeze blows. Birds chirp and insects buzz. It smells like summer.
My painting features a large, dynamically drawn maritime pine and grasses. Behind it, in the center of the picture, is a bed made of metal rods with a neon yellow mattress and matching pillow.… This romantic bed appears to float in something light blue. It's up to the viewer's imagination to decide whether the bed is floating in water or in the sky. The right side of the painting is very minimalist, allowing the viewer to let their imagination run wild. The paint was applied in several layers with a brush.
