The artist showcases her work ‘REFLECTIONS - Embodiment’ - the concluding piece from a four-part series created for the Florence Biennale 2023.
In this painting Anukta strives to shatter gender stereotypes. Instead she focusses on the psychological parallels between men and women, which numerous studies suggest are more prevalent than the differences. Through the representation of work sphere, the painting through multiple line drawings, brings… attention to the diverse roles that women have embraced through the history and in contemporary times. Roles traditionally perceived as 'typically male' like construction workers, farmers, fighter pilots, match referees, film directors and such. The artist's aim is to urge people to exist harmoniously, celebrating eachother's strength and embody the spirit of oneness.

Anukta Mukherjee Ghosh is an Indian artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally , and internationally in the prestigious Florence Biennale in Italy and in the United Arab Emirates. Inspired by the spaces she inhabits, the places she visits, and the people she meets, she enjoys freeing the captured images in her mind onto canvas. Ghosh's landscapes and figurative works celebrate the diversity of her country. Her paintings and commissioned projects adorn homes and prestigious corporate houses, hotels and restaurants across India and worldwide in the US, UK, New Zealand, Netherlands, Germany and Dubai. Anukta has also been felicitated by the Govt.of India for her work on a national Women's Empowerment portal. She works across all mediums though mostly in acrylic. Her style is contemporary realism, with elements of abstract. Her interest lies in composition and interplay of colors.
