The artist showcases her work ‘REFLECTIONS - Sisterhood’ - the inaugural piece from a four-part series created for the Florence Biennale 2023.
This painting is Anukta’s shout out in her words to all the women out there - “ I hear you, I am you! “ The artists conveys through her work that our appearances, our words, our behavior, our responses and circumstances may differ, yet an unspoken thread of comprehension binds us into a circle of sisterhood.…
She urges us to tap into our spirit of oneness, becoming each other’s source of strength and inspiration.
The artist is deeply honoured to be representing India and showcasing this in the world class platform.
The figurative artwork is approached in a contemporary manner using multiple colours for the skin, the women of various races and ages painted across convey the diversity and the circle represents the invisible bond between women. The painting talks to the audience through the hand which points towards the viewer.

Anukta Mukherjee Ghosh is an Indian artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally , and internationally in the prestigious Florence Biennale in Italy and in the United Arab Emirates. Inspired by the spaces she inhabits, the places she visits, and the people she meets, she enjoys freeing the captured images in her mind onto canvas. Ghosh's landscapes and figurative works celebrate the diversity of her country. Her paintings and commissioned projects adorn homes and prestigious corporate houses, hotels and restaurants across India and worldwide in the US, UK, New Zealand, Netherlands, Germany and Dubai. Anukta has also been felicitated by the Govt.of India for her work on a national Women's Empowerment portal. She works across all mediums though mostly in acrylic. Her style is contemporary realism, with elements of abstract. Her interest lies in composition and interplay of colors.
