About this artwork
Inspired by the wildlife and landscapes of Scotland, this painting explores the presence and quiet power of the peregrine falcon. Known for its strength, precision, and freedom, the bird becomes a symbol of resilience and perspective.
Through layered textures, expressive brushwork, and atmospheric colour, I sought to create more than a wildlife portrait. The surrounding landscape remains suggestive and open, allowing the falcon to emerge from an… environment shaped by memory, mood, and place.
Part of my Highland Series, this work reflects my fascination with the connection between wildlife and the natural world, inviting viewers to pause and experience a sense of stillness, freedom, and reflection.
