About this artwork
The Silvereye is a small olive-green bird with a distinctive white ring around the eye. They feed on fruit and nectar and are common in orchards and domestic gardens. They are common in southern Australia during summer, but migrate to the north of the country to avoid the cold winters. This bird is depicted on a branch of plum blossom. Silvereyes symbolise adaptability, growth and clear sightedness.
