About this artwork
The artist was touched and inspired by the beauty of dancing. He thinks he will always paint dancers. He was inspired by his grandmother who is a great dancer of Congolese rumba but who, with her old age, speaks only of these memories of past dance lessons in Diosso. She described it as a place with warm colours and vibrant acoustic sound. The artist gives a narrative sense to the story by putting a garment that was not acceptable in her culture.…
