About this artwork
Fascinated by the luminosity of the supermoon that 'overshadows' everything urban, I tried to capture the mystical balance between light and darkness in this work. The depiction of two floating spheres, one bright white, the other in deep red, is also intended to symbolize the duality of life. This composition invites the viewer to reflect on the coexistence of opposites and brings a deep, calming energy to any room.
Printed on high-quality Hahnemühle… FineArt medium (325 gsm and glossy surface structure), the work of art is given a noble, structured feel with intense color depth and the abstract motif is adequately shown off. Art Merl uses digital photography with a background in painting. Through the targeted use of blur and skillful camera movement (Intentional Camera Movement), she creates abstract fine art works that combine painting with photography. Her works, which often focus on minimalism and movement, convey profound emotions and impressions of our environment, be it in the field of street photography, nature or architecture. She sees her camera as a medium for creating art, similar to a brush that, following the impulse of empathy and artistic perception, immersed in the colors and shapes of the surrounding motif, creates a felt interpretation of reality.
