Minaret (Arabic: منار, romanized: minār or manār) is the name given to the towers of Muslim mosques. They are typically used to project the muezzin's call to prayer, but have also served as landmarks and symbols of the presence of Islam. They can take a variety of forms, from thick, squat towers to slender spires or spires.
In Arabic, the word that most properly designates this part of the mosque is مئذنة mi'dhana, that is, the place from which… the adhan or call to prayer is made; its ritual function is to provide an elevated environment for the muezzin or muezzin (مُؤَذِّن mu'aḏḏin -"shouter"-) to make the five calls.

Arturo Prins is an exciting Spanish artist whose style comes from a sensibility of play, discipline, freedom and rebellion, redoubled in a constant reinvention of himself. Thematically, Prins looks to delve into metaphysics, symbolism, esoteric cosmogony, while mixing in humor to soften the transcendent themes in his work. He also describes his work as being "nostalgic for the future, sometimes with a nod to the eclectic spiritualism between East and West."
