About this artwork
I met Shi-Ming (in Chinese it means Cry of the West) in a Chinese restaurant. I worked as a waitress. Seeing her in her Kimono, I was impressed by how beautiful she was. I came to dream of her. I think we made love in a state of grace, calm and deep well-being, a sex far from passion. I swear that I thought that it could be my future wife, like a dream of the soul that indicated something important to me to find again. A fraternal union. A warm company.…
I went back to the restaurant but it was gone. I asked her mother for her phone. He gave it to me.
I asked him to paint Musa's face what he saw in her. A sensation of primitive oriental savage, which hides a precocious intelligence and a completely numb sexuality. He posed 5 Saturdays, an hour and a half each day. At first I drew it in pencil and although the result seemed more than enough, I needed to make it as intense as the color that covers it. Like a 20-year-old Nefertiti, untamed, lost in Madrid, and rediscovered 3,300 years later.
