About this artwork
A teepee requires about 13 bison hides, plus a dozen lodgepole pines or other light, softwood, straight-trunked logs for the structure. This is a problem in much of Mexico, although any location where cattle and sheep can be raised is conducive to raising bison. It is a highly portable home, routinely moved every two or three days to fresh horse pastures, to unexploited local wildlife, and to escape the accumulation of trash and odors after a few…
days in the same location. But it is primarily used for winter hunting (dragging it across the grassy, snowy, and icy savannas over rivers), since, until very recently, tribes using teepees generally lived most of the year in permanent earthen villages (mud, clay, logs, and intertwined branches) with log palisades and extensive farms and gardens.

« I wanted to be a pilot, but I ended up painting. Now I fly higher. »
Arturo Prins is an exciting Spanish artist whose style comes from a sensibility of play, discipline, freedom and rebellion, redoubled in a constant reinvention of himself. Thematically, Prins looks to delve into metaphysics, symbolism, esoteric cosmogony, while mixing in humor to soften the transcendent themes in his work. He also describes his work as being "nostalgic for the future, sometimes with a nod to the eclectic spiritualism between East and West."
