This sombre painting presents a surrealistic landscape infused with expressionistic overtones — a blend of the modern and the classical. Created during the era of Covid‑19 and social distancing, it reflects the psychological atmosphere of isolation that defined those years.
At the center of the composition stands a solitary tree on a barren hill. Its twisted, organic form echoes the contours of the human body, suggesting a nude figure exposed to… the elements. This lone tree becomes a metaphor for the individual in contemporary times: vulnerable, isolated, yet enduring. The landscape around it reinforces this emotional terrain, turning nature itself into a mirror of the human condition.
Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From early childhood, I was instinctively drawn to drawing and painting, exploring form, colour, and emotion long before I had the words to describe them. Although I formally studied art between 1989 and 1992, and had the rare privilege of training as a disciple in the studio of the legendary Jamil Naqsh, I still consider myself a self‑taught artist at heart. My artistic language has grown through constant experimentation, personal exploration, and an unbroken commitment to my craft. I have been painting professionally for over three decades, developing a body of work that reflects both discipline and intuition — a balance shaped by tradition yet driven by my own evolving vision
