In the Whispering Forest series August Langhout explores the mystical threshold between reality and abstraction.
By using digital multiple exposures the verticality of the trees is transformed into rhythmic strokes of light and color reminiscent of an Impressionist oil painting. This work does not merely capture a landscape. It captures the breath of the forest through the rustling of leaves and the shifting light between the trunks.
