"Artist Statement #1". Using an online artist statement generator, Aviva decided to work backwards by first generating a non-sensical totally random artist statement and paint whatever the statement dictated. A "cllin d'oeil" (or poking a bit of fun) at the contemporary art world.

Aviva Brooks is an experienced American painter and photographer based in France who has exhibited her work internationally. Having grown up in the US before settling in France in the 1980s, her work is inspired by the disparities that separate French and American cultures. Exploring the bridges between two worlds through curious characters, color combinations and perspectives, she composes fascinating comments on the passage of time.
