About this artwork
Lady Sunshine is part of my series Astrattismi Analitici, where abstraction becomes a space for examining how structures hold, fracture, and reconnect.
Built through layers of acrylic, charcoal, and ballpoint pen, the composition combines gestural energy with drawn lines that suggest systems, maps, and internal trajectories. Ruptures cut through the canvas and are visibly repaired with cotton thread, transforming damage into an active part of the… work rather than something to conceal.
The thread functions simultaneously as line, connection, and scar. It extends the language of drawing into physical space while introducing tension between interruption and continuity, fragility and resilience.
In Lady Sunshine, vibrant fields of yellow, red, and blue create a sense of expansion and movement, while the stitched interventions reveal a quieter narrative of reconstruction. The work does not seek balance; instead, it embraces instability as a condition of growth, adaptation and renewal.
