About this artwork
During my morning walks, I pass many palm trees and I’m drawn to the tallest one. The way they sway in the wind makes their fronds appear to be dancing. One day, I noticed the exposed roots of a palm tree near a trench that had been dug for pipe repairs. I’d never seen this before, and it got me thinking about my own “roots”. I realized that tree roots are a powerful metaphor for our origins. While our roots may not always be visible or conscious,…
they’re crucial to our growth and understanding. And just like a tree’s roots are hidden beneath the surface, the origins of our identity are often unseen, but they shape who we become. Roots represent the unconscious, a concept that plays a key role in all of my artwork. My digital paintings created on my iPad are developed entirely without the use of AI. Every element is achieved thru my hands-on process that reflects my personal vision and intent.
