About this artwork
It is part of my New Orleans paintings, the levee of the Ponchartrain Lake, the place where the water came in when Catrina overloaded New Orleans. Now they built a much stronger levee with trees and I liked the historical place so much with the lake being, as a sea. It is so much peace there, but in the past there was much danger.
In this oil painting, I've aimed to capture the raw, untamed energy of life on the edge between tumult and harmony.… The dark, dynamic skies clash with the spirited, abstract figures that dance and weave near the water's edge. It's a celebration of resilience, a dance on the precipices facing the storms of life. Watching it, you feel the pulse of unruly beauty, bringing an invigorating spirit into your space.
