About this artwork
In this painting, I explored the depths of the human mind and the emotional universe that surrounds us.
Often, when faced with suffering, we flee, we tend to avoid it or control it, we try to push away memories or fill the gap by distracting ourselves, we force ourselves to forget. In doing so, we hinder the processing of pain and loss, we prevent emancipation from the suffering that enters our present with a wave of memories or painful stimuli… that scratch the wound like a sharp blade, preventing it from healing. The avoided pain persists and increases over time, often accompanied by apathy, anger, indifference, insensitivity to stimuli, depression. Like an oyster, we must embrace the "damage". We must slip into the pain and allow ourselves to do so daily, to get out of it. By passing through the pain, the blade of memories becomes blunt and the suffering fades.
From here, a path of rebirth can begin.
« Painting is my refuge; it's where I can express everything when words are not enough. »
