About this artwork
LAGUNA VIVA is a semi-abstract water landscape reminiscent of Claude Monet's water lily ponds. It represents the "living lagoon" of Venice. This is the part of the lagoon that reacts to the tides and is washed with sea water.
The painting was created in numerous layers using acrylic technique, with earth being incorporated. This created a nice feel. Few structures have been partially provided with noctilucent paint so that they begin to shimmer… in the dark in daylight after charging. The work is held in delicate pastel tones. White nuances and mint-colored green are interspersed with delicate blue. The highlight is something organic in complementary orange - a stone, a fish, a leaf?
The painting is not framed, but can be hung up immediately. Framing is possible on site. A simple floater frame gives the picture a modern touch, an impressionism frame a museum character.
« For me, representational and abstract paintings play a synonymous role. When I look at my work, I have to say, "That's it!" »
Barbara Schauß is an established German painter whose works have been exhibited in regional and national exhibitions. Her love for art began as a child when she discovered her father's books of world famous paintings. Inspired by the Impressionist movement, Schauß was greatly moved to paint after seeing Monet's "Fields in Spring" and famous lily pads. She also experiments in abstract painting, working in both oils and acrylics. Schauß is compelled by colors and aims to represent an overall atmosphere, whether harmonious or discordant, through her work.
