About this artwork
This is a portrait of three emperor penguins in their cool environment. Penguins are a funny species with their waddling movements and their feathering resembling tuxedos. Their funny movements on land or ice make us laugh. The painting's composition of the portrait of the three penguins creates an upbeat atmosphere. For capturing a cool and lighthearted mood with these funny guys I used different hues of blue and white for the feathers and light…
yellow and orange contrasts for the cool light of their icy environment. The painting is made up of relatively flat shapes and repetitive elements which creates an inherent rhythm.
