About this artwork
Charcoal and colored pastels on paper. Woman's face.
This work is made from a life model.
When I started drawing this woman what struck me was the look, it told everything about her, her strength, her determination, her past, her sensuality. This is what I wanted to portray, a woman with no more fear.

« Life multiplies, and so does joy. Its contagiousness makes its reproduction as efficient as that of the most prolific weed. -Ingrid Fetell Lee. »
Beatrice Zagato is an award-winning painter, photographer, and draftsman based in Italy whose works have been widely exhibited nationally, as well as in France and the United Kingdom. She believes that colors affect our brains like caffeine, transmitting energy and arousing emotions. Zagato's abstractions play with color, rhythm, movement, and gesture. Her diverse compositions are created using acrylics, gilding, charcoal, and pastels on paper.
