About this artwork
With kindness -Ephemeral 013 square- is a piece from the Ephemeral series.
The concept of abstraction exists as an ephemeral thought, a passing idea. Begoña captures his thoughts in ephemeral collages, which as such are extremely short-lived, long enough to be captured by his camera. The deconstruction of these images creates a new and persistent reality in the time that is captured in his work.
The image is printed in high resolution and an emulsion… is poured over it by hand. It is a resin that hardens in the drying process, creating an effect of depth. The corners look curved and the light is reflected in a very warm way that enhances the colors.

« I explore the essence of art and am intrigued by the "why" of works that last over time, as well as the why of those that fall into oblivion. »
Begoña Lafuente is a painter and illustrator based in the Netherlands whose works have been widely exhibited internationally, as well as in Spain. For her, art is a timeless conversation where not everything is said and "the essential is diluted." Lafuente describes her works as a game of combinations that combines materials, textures and colors, improvising new routes for the senses. In addition, she integrates movement and contrast in her compositions to cultivate visual and emotional tension.
