About this artwork
With this collection I want to reflect my personal struggle to get out of each of the mental stereotypes in which I was brought up and that take me away from my essence. I fight every day to be able to leave behind that tangle of social constructions that limit me. I try to stop judging, accepting and loving myself imperfectly. I do not know if I will never know who I really am and what I want, but I need to tighten the threads that hold me and fight…
to find myself. Opening the path of that search is my balance and my vital need.
And we fight to get out of what is expected of us, to find our own way.

Bel Mur is a painter, photographer, and sculptor based in Spain whose works have been exhibited nationally. She equates her art with her essence, a place where she can be herself, without distortions. Mur observes and translates the progression of organic geometry as through the use of color and texture, while also employing it as an opportunity to explore spontaneity and chance in artistic expression. She creates using acrylics, oils, and pencils on wood or paper.
