About this artwork
The Friendly Meteors are a collection of sculptural works inspired by the natural surroundings of Hemsedal and my personal journey from Switzerland to Norway. They reflect the experience of arriving in a new place, sometimes feeling like a stranger dropping in from another world.
Made from cement and acrylic paint, each meteor is individually painted, giving it a unique character and personality. Combining the physical presence of cement with colorful,… graphic surfaces, the works exist somewhere between sculpture and painting.

Benjamin Siegenthaler is a multidisciplinary artist with a background in stone sculpture, working across drawing, painting, collage, installation, and scenography. His practice blends precise craftsmanship with spontaneous intuition, combining organic forms, bold outlines, and playful but refined abstraction in both two- and three-dimensional works. Through tensions between order and chaos, landscape and city, and closeness and distance, he conveys a sense of hopeful openness, inviting reflection, connection, and wonder amidst unresolved contradictions.
