This work is part of the series "Flight into the Past", in which I dealt with aerial photographs by the famous aerial photographer Georg Gerster. Architectural relics in the landscape have a great appeal to me. Sometimes it's amazing how similar a circuit board from the digital world and the city structure of a millennia-old settlement are.

Since 1985 Benno Noll works as a freelance artist. The archaic emerges as a theme, but also illustrated by the choice of material in his pictures. He creates frescoes by working in alternating, filled with corroded iron and light, consisting of water, glazes. The layers sense the production process and give the work plasticity.
