A beautiful piece of old silk found in a bazar in Urumchi (East China) - it must have been part of a lovely caftan worn by a man or a woman.
The actual pattern of the piece of silk has been much enlarged. The Paisley motive was and is very loved around the world - it probably originated in India or Persia.
The artwork is painted on the sides and needs no frame - there is a small symbol on the front and a signature on the back.
