About this artwork
I am an Antwerp-based artist, born and raised in the north of the city, where grey skies, strong opinions, and good light have all played their part in shaping my work. I am self-taught, though growing up with an artist mother and a family permanently orbiting around art meant I never really had a chance to escape it anyway. All my paintings are oil on canvas and built up in multiple layers, creating depth—both visually and emotionally—much like the thoughts that tend to pile up while making them. I exhibited my work for a while, then slowed down due to other occupations (life has a talent for doing that). Now feels like the right moment to go to the next level and properly contribute
