One of the most amazing things about nature is how personal it is – how much it can fire up the individual imagination, how it can function as a metaphor for growth and change. “The Path Series” of drawings, seems to depict, at its most basic level, sea grasses. Yet, they’re also highly abstracted, brightly colored environments.
The drawings are made by hand on large sheets of Stonehenge paper, via a method that's very labor intensive: each takes… about 3 months to complete, the result of building up multiple layers of colors, and using up dozens of Prismacolor pencils, to achieve intensity and rich tonality. Bold colors are used for their power to evoke sensations, and elicit an emotional response from the viewer.
« I never felt like I chose art, I felt like art chose me. It’s like a moth attracted to a flame (inspiration). Art has always called to me. »
