About this artwork
In Wide Horizon I, the view opens up into the distance. A split horizon line structures the pictorial space and suggests a constantly changing interplay of stillness and movement. The composition is inspired by a winter walk along a harbor wall, where weather and mood change rapidly.
Layers of paint, filler, and collage elements create a vibrant surface that oscillates between clarity and dissolution. Cool blue tones meet light areas and dense… sections, making depth and distance palpable. The work invites the viewer to pause and explore the moment between arrival and departure.
My artistic work combines a love of color with a fascination for nature, light, and movement. The sea—with its constant interplay of ebb and flow—in particular inspires me to create abstract acrylic compositions. Squares structure the space, provide counterpoints to dynamics, and symbolize clarity amidst emotional depth. Every work is a dialogue—with the canvas, with life, and with the viewer. I'm not just concerned with aesthetics, but with resonance: my paintings invite us to pause, to feel, to discover new perspectives. Filling the empty space with meaning brings me joy—and hopefully also those who view my art.
