About this artwork
In Wide Horizon II, urban space is condensed into a silent snapshot. Inspired by a winter walk through the city, the work depicts an abandoned artificial ice rink, its surface bearing only the faint traces of skaters.
House facades bearing frost marks and a cool, morning light structure the pictorial space. The horizon line opens up the view and creates distance, while layers of color, texture, and collage generate a calm, almost floating atmosphere.… The work speaks of stillness after movement—a transition between night and day, use and emptiness.
My artistic work combines a love of color with a fascination for nature, light, and movement. The sea—with its constant interplay of ebb and flow—in particular inspires me to create abstract acrylic compositions. Squares structure the space, provide counterpoints to dynamics, and symbolize clarity amidst emotional depth. Every work is a dialogue—with the canvas, with life, and with the viewer. I'm not just concerned with aesthetics, but with resonance: my paintings invite us to pause, to feel, to discover new perspectives. Filling the empty space with meaning brings me joy—and hopefully also those who view my art.
