About this artwork
In this print, I captured the inner tension of a figure with clear, angular lines. The relief printing technique intensifies the expression through strong contrast and texture. I wanted to create an atmosphere that feels both vulnerable and determined – perfect for bringing tension and energy to any room. This work invites the viewer to discover the strength beneath the surface.

Germany
Birgit vom Dorp is an artist living in Essen, trained in painting, graphic design, and clothing technology. She works primarily with acrylics, charcoal, and watercolors, oscillating between expressive figuration and psychological portraiture. Her works are characterized by gestural layers, strong color contrasts, and a deliberate blurring of the lines. With her expressive style, she conveys intimacy, vulnerability, and the complex depths of human emotion—between visible presence and hidden memory.
