About this artwork
This artwork was created using the intricate, handcrafted technique of cut-out with a saw. The resulting openings and the view through to the wall transform the image into a more three-dimensional object. Two additional layers are glued to the lower support layer, which forms the frame. Two spheres are playfully placed on these layers. The paint, applied with highly pigmented, matte colors and a free, free brushstroke, is meticulous. The shadows…
