About this artwork
This is a painting I made in my Lowell, MA studio in February of 2019. It incorporates several layers each featuring a different set of painting techniques.
The painting was composed on raw, loose canvas and wrapped around heavy duty gallery depth stretcher bars after it had dried. The creates a seamless transition around the edge of the painting; the composition wraps around the sides and thus this painting would be best displayed without a frame.… See detail images.

Established American artistic Blake Brasher favors a messy, colorful and abstruct style of painting to offer his viewers alternative explanations into possible ways of being. Not satified with conventional explanations of why things are how they are, Blake's vibrant and sometimes brashy works provide a place for meditative thought, or, ideally, no thought at all.
Blake has honed his artistic talents through a number of residencies both in his native America and Europe. His works have featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the United States.
