About this artwork
This is part of a series of ten small paintings that I made all at the same time in the following sizes: six 11 x 8.5 inches on textured polypropylene (Yupo), one 14 x 11 inches on gessobord, one 16 x 12 inches on watercolor paper, one 16 x 12 inches on canvas, and one 40 x 26 inches on textured polypropylene.
This is one of the 11 x 8.5 inch paintings on textured polypropylene. It features a watercolor background in reds and oranges, hexagon pattern… and some doodles in marker, vine pattern in yellow acrylic, overlapping circles in aqua acrylic, dark thick brushstrokes, and acrylic poured paint in tones of sky blue. There is some crazing in the poured paint.

Blake Brasher
United States
« My work is an attempt to suggest possible ways of being. It is a self conscious offering of answers while knowing that answers do not exist. »
Established American artistic Blake Brasher favors a messy, colorful and abstruct style of painting to offer his viewers alternative explanations into possible ways of being. Not satified with conventional explanations of why things are how they are, Blake's vibrant and sometimes brashy works provide a place for meditative thought, or, ideally, no thought at all.
Blake has honed his artistic talents through a number of residencies both in his native America and Europe. His works have featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the United States.
