About this artwork
This is part of a series of nine small paintings that I made all at the same time in the following sizes: six 11 x 8.5 inches on textured polypropylene (Yupo), two 14 x 11 inches on gessobord, and one 40 x 26 inches on textured polypropylene.
These pieces are pretty little tangles of possible space. I've been going large in my work recently, so I wanted to see what would happen if I pulled it back to a smaller format, and so there is something a… little more refined here, perhaps a little more careful, but still spontaneous and free. I used a neat trick here, a little painting life hack: smaller brushes for smaller spaces.

Blake Brasher
United States
« My work is an attempt to suggest possible ways of being. It is a self conscious offering of answers while knowing that answers do not exist. »
Established American artistic Blake Brasher favors a messy, colorful and abstruct style of painting to offer his viewers alternative explanations into possible ways of being. Not satified with conventional explanations of why things are how they are, Blake's vibrant and sometimes brashy works provide a place for meditative thought, or, ideally, no thought at all.
Blake has honed his artistic talents through a number of residencies both in his native America and Europe. His works have featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the United States.
