About this artwork
This work explores a state of emotional withdrawal as part of a natural cycle — a period of stillness that allows space for reconfiguration and quiet renewal.
The central figure rests in a fetal position, suspended between presence and absence. Though fully alive, she appears almost buried, or submerged, as if sinking into an unseen depth. Leaves flow outward from her form, suggesting both decay and transformation.
The landscape emerges from and… returns into her body — her hair giving rise to the forest, her presence dissolving into it. Subtle symbolic elements hint at cycles of strength, vulnerability, and time.
Drawing from European autumnal imagery and mythological undertones, the work reflects a state in which retreat is not only inevitable, but necessary.
The original work was drawn and painted entirely by hand through a layered digital process.

Through landscapes, portraits, and cartographies, he explores the tensions between nature and the human-made, conveying a multi-layered sense of wonder, psychological depth, and the poignant transience of human experience.
