« The most profound and enjoyable freedom is the freedom of creation, an intimate freedom where you find yourself alone in front of a field of endless possibility. This is what guides and carries me. »
Boca (aka Cécile Boland) is a Belgian artist based in France who previously worked as an actress before discovering a passion for painting and moving towards this profession. Self-taught and instinctive, she moves from traditional works on canvas to pieces of woodwork in a constant and open expression of creation, and likes to mix materials to reveal new movements and lights. With no theme, concept or content planned for each piece, it focuses on the pure process of creation; the meanings come later.
