“Split Waves”
This shot was taken at Peterson’s Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. The building is wrapped in wavy red panels and positioned here I was able to capture where the panels are attached. I split the frame to exaggerate both elements of the facade’s construction. This expanded view opens us up to this connection where their intersection appears to explode. The corresponding extension is dramatic against the open sky and these hard lines.… The tightness in the wall lines creates an optical illusion while contrasting the larger wave lines. Their randomness further defines the overall composition.
