About this artwork
I think this work embodies three metaphors that are condensed in the self-portrait. The circle symbolizes the soundhole of a guitar, which could suggest Sergio's figure; the print symbolizes my specialty, which is engraving; the texture of the gauze and the colors refer to the physical space where we met, which confesses: "we are patients at a kinesiology gym." Sergio has been there for one year and I have been there for ten.
