About this artwork
Album cover for Sergio Puccini. I believe this work embodies three metaphors that converge in the self-portrait. The circle symbolizes the soundhole of a guitar, perhaps alluding to Sergio's figure; the print symbolizes my specialty, engraving; and the texture of the gauze and the colors refer to the physical space where we met, which, as they confess, "we are patients at a kinesiology gym." Sergio has been there for a year, and I for ten.
The… space for connection carries a certain intimacy, considering that those who have had the experience of being forced to rehabilitate their bodies encounter that subtle and personal "biological time" that invites you to survive with humility, every day. Ideally, for your entire life.
