About this artwork
This series emerged after biking to my studio late March during a snow blizzard, laughing at myself as I pushed forward through the thick new snow, imagining all the colorful new growth waiting to pop once the warmth returned. As soon as I arrived in my studio, still red cheeks, before I was able to thaw I took that inspiration and began adding the layers of textured white on top of a very vibrant resined series I had, hence embarking on a new series…
of inspiration, reminding myself that buried under all that white cold snow is such a vast arrangement of vibrant colors waiting for the warm opportunity to emerge once again. This series creates a unique Luminous multi-layered "feel good" expression by using vibrant acrylics with resin in the background, adding white textured acrylic to create the "white blanket of snow". As always I do my best to show up and let whatever needs to flow through & out onto a substrate to express these inspired moments.
