About this artwork
In this work, I blended acrylic, oil, resin, and epoxy to capture a vibrant and symbolic metaphysical scene. Each mask and face embodies a hidden facet of the soul, playing a mysterious melody that emanates from the skull. I wanted to convey the contrast between life and decay, inspiring reflection on identity and time. This piece brings an enigmatic and intense energy to any space.
Artwork on plexiglass, backed with another sheet of mauve plexiglass,… and framed in black lacquer. The masks are in relief, and this piece plays on transparency.
The artwork, including the frame, measures 138 cm vertically and 84 cm horizontally.
Her artistic approach is deeply rooted in the exploration of the spiritual realm through lyrical, poetic, and surreal figuration. Her work highlights the duality of human existence, between shadow and light, materiality and spirituality. She expresses this tension through a pictorial contrast between ultra-smooth surfaces and chaotic reliefs, sometimes creating works that exist somewhere between painting and sculpture, where the subjects seem to emerge from the support. Trained in decorative painting, she has enriched her practice through various specialized workshops, notably in lime techniques, frescoes, patinas, and decorative plasters such as stucco. She also masters mural painting, modeling, airbrushing, and pouring with epoxy resin, giving her work a unique, glazed appearance. She invites reflection on consciousness, wisdom, and the connection between the visible and invisible worlds, sublimating matter to touch upon these spiritual realities.
