About this artwork
The second in a series of 6 paintings using a similar colour palette exploring the textures, shapes and line in the bush setting where I live and how it is an never ending life cycle of botanical elements. Plants bloom and then wither and bloom again. They interact with each other jostling for space and light.
The colour palette is soothing but with pops of brightness that compliment the dramatic shapes and composition. There’s lots of interesting… mark making and texture as you get in close.

« I love the freedom of experimentation, the joy of spontaneity. »
Bronwyn Barton is an artist based in Australia whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. While her works are diverse, they most often reflect her love of the lush wilderness of Queensland, where she lives. Barton's semi-abstract compositions are characterized by the use of many layers of color, organic shapes, and expressive mark-making. She most often creates with acrylics and pastels on canvas.
