About this artwork
In creating this artwork, I delved into my love of the great Jazz saxophonist, Charlie Parker, hence the title, Birdland. My intention was to create an expressive and free-spirited composition. I always use a mix of materials. For this piece I used acrylics, charcoal, and oil pastels, letting each medium guide the abstract forms and vibrant textures.
