In creating this work, I sought to explore duality and harmony through texture and composition. The use of acrylic together with gravura, tempera and sand creates a tactile dialogue that invites introspection. Bruno Biondi has displayed his paintings in numerous solo exhibitions throughout his native Italy and Poland. Colorblind at birth, it wasn’t until his artistic style transformed from figurative to informal that he realized how integral color was to his work and that he could not avoid it. Vertical signs are carved and imprinted in each of his pieces, which are all entitled ‘Vertical Concept”. Biondi imbues these symbols with the significance of stability and self-confidence in uncertain times.
