About this artwork
This oil on panel painting was created following a memorable night in the famous Havana cafe/bar favoured by Ernest Hemingway. Cigar smoke thicker than fog, daiquiris, and fabulous company are reflected by the earth tones with the hint of lime green. The energy of yesteryear was embedded in every surface.
The earth tones are grounding and reflect 10th chakra, the nature chakra. One is pulled into the atmosphere of tobacco farms and drying sheds,… and the pungent smell of the earth. I added carnelian, a gemstone that reminds us that as we are love, there is nothing to do but to give and receive love and that is how Cuba felt to me...a place where love was tangible. Peridot, a stone that helps with clarity and patience has also been added. The gemstones help raise the vibration of the painting which in turn helps to raise the consciousness of the viewer. This piece holds the energy of magic from deep conversation in hallowed places filled with love and joy and ghosts.
